To help you plan your next break, here are the top five water parks in Spain as voted for by holiday reviewers on TripAdvisor and Google.

I. Siam Park, Tenerife

Siam Park in Tenerife

Of all the water parks in Spain, the highest rated by a mile is Siam Park in Tenerife.

This Thai-themed park boasts the title of Europe’s largest water park, not only because it is full of the most thrilling slides, rides and entertainment, but because it also has plenty of space to relax on sandy beaches, soak up the sound of waterfalls, and snooze as you are carried down slow rivers.

Price: 1-day tickets from £33 per adult and £22 per child; multi-day tickets available at a discount.

Where is it: Playa de Las Americas, Salida 29 Autopista del Sur, San Eugenio 38660, Tenerife.

II. Aqualandia, Benidorm

Aqualandia in Benidorm

Europe’s second-largest water park, second only to Siam Park, Aqualandia is right on Benidorm’s doorstep.

Exciting slides, rides and river rapids keep the energetic members of the family entertained, while those preferring some quiet time have a massive range of pools and sunbathing areas to enjoy.

IV. PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park, Salou

Portaventura

From the highest free-fall slide in Europe to relaxing on Bahama Beach, the Caribe Aquatic Park is just one of three PortAventura theme parks in the immediate vicinity. Families could easily spend all their time in the parks, or otherwise, take a short ride into the cultural and varied city of Barcelona.

Price: Prices start at €29 per adult and €25 per child/senior. A variety of deals are available.

V. CostaWaterPark, Málaga

Costa Water Park

CostaWaterPark is a one-of-a-kind take on the water theme parks in Spain. Instead of taking your kids inland, this company has set up various floating obstacle courses and attractions upon the sea itself. Each inflatable playground is secured, supervised by a professional, and is only a short distance from the coastline, yet offers an entirely unique way to enjoy the ocean.

Price: €10 per hour or €25 for a day pass.

Where is it: Ten sites located along various beaches south of Málaga.

Where to stay: While the Costa del Sol is full to the brim of family-friendly hotels, the best place to stay is in Málaga. It is located just a short car or bus ride to any of the CostaWaterPark sites, while the city itself has its own beaches, restaurants and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
