Boozy brunches in Singapore to suit all budgets – make your lay-over count

To most, Singapore is not as much a destination as a means-to-a destination. None-the-less, you can fit one epic hotel brunch into that lay-over. Just make sure you have a rest day to recover before your onward flight.

Here’s our pick of the boozy bunch, with a range of budget options to suit all wallets.

$$$$: What’s a budget??

Best boozy brunches in Singapore for all budgets - Manhattan Regent Singapore - MyLateDeals

Manhattan, Regent Singapore

Named #1 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2017, the moody lighting and grand hotel lounge setting will transplant you to New York City. You go to the Regent Singapore’s Manhattan brunch for the cocktails, not the food, (though the food is also fantastic!). Expect freshly shucked American oysters, lobsters from Maine, bagels baked that morning, and whisky braised beef short ribs. Compared to most family-friendly brunch options in Singapore, it’s an adult-only zone, so you can kick back and sip your martini in peace.

When: Sundays 11:30am – 3:30pm

What’s the damage: £128 per person includes unlimited food from the brunch buffet, and free-flow cocktails, wine, beer and Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve Champagne

Where: Level 2, Regent Singapore, a Four Seasons Hotel, 1 Cuscaden Road, Singapore, 249715

The view from Kinki’s rooftop

Kinki

In the heart of the financial district, Kinki’s rooftop is usually pumping with the after-work crowd. Popular for its spectacular rooftop view over Marina Bay Sands, it’s a great spot to take some Singapore holiday snaps. It’s not cheap, but with a menu of premium sushi and sashimi, their brunch price is very good value for money compared to what you’d pay for the equivalent in London.

When: Saturdays 12noon – 3pm

What’s the damage: £38 per person for unlimited sushi, sashimi, mains and desserts, plus an optional £16.50 top-up for free-flow beer, or £23 for free-flow prosecco, sake and Korean shochu

Where: 70 Collyer Quay, #02-02 Customs House Singapore 049323

The Beast

In the hipster alleys around Arab Street, you’ll find this little Southern Fried Chicken ‘n’ whiskey soul bar tucked on a corner. Of a night, you’ll be drawn into this dive by the sound of the blues, local musicians often frequent for a jam. But of a weekend, the sun is hot, and the hungover party crowd come to recover, eat brunch, and look oh-so-casually fabulous.

Eat fried chicken and waffles, with a side of mac and cheese. Wash it down with bottomless mimosas, (that’s champagne and orange juice to us).

When: Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 5pm (last orders: 4.45pm)

What’s the damage: There is no set price, but the average main costs £12, and you can top-up £18 for bottomless mimosa cocktails throughout your meal

Where: 17 Jalan Klapa, Singapore 199329
